The Tisza
The River Tisza is one of the main rivers in Central Europe and rises in the northern region of the Great Plain. Its tranquil beauty is quite simply stunning. The cruise begins in Budapest and continues through Hungary before making a foray into Serbia, where we visit Novi Sad. The cruise then turns back into Hungary again, where we stop at Szeged, the largest city in Hungary’s Southern Great Plain located at the crossing of the Tisza and Maros Rivers. During the cruise on both lake and river, you will be astonished at the outstanding wild and natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. The cruise also includes a stop at Tokaj, a charming village with ancient buildings and huge stone walls, located in the very heart of the wine-growing region of Tokay-Hegyalia, famous the world over for its fine “Tokaj Aszu” dessert wine.
