Taste and sensory melodies await you throughout your cruise. Oenology and nature enthusiasts will discover renowned vineyards and authentic terroirs. Travel through the Cassis vineyards , a real mineral jewel in a green setting next to the blue Mediterranean sea, then the region of  Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a nectar appreciated by the Popes, founder of AOC  labelling and terroirs of exception. Visit also the Vivarais vineyards, a rustic terroir with mineral warm wines, before exploring the emblematic hillside of Tain l'Hermitage, one of the most prestigious vineyards of the Côtes du Rhône.

Route

Day 1

CHALON SUR SAONE

Passengers are welcome to board our ship at 6.00 p.m. in Chalon-sur-Saône, in the heart of the Burgundy wine-growing region. Time to settle comfortably in your cabins before meeting the crew during a welcome cocktail reception. Dinner and evening on board.

Day 2

CHALON-SUR-SAONE - MACON - LYON (Burgundy - Beaujolais)

We'll set off by coach through the Burgundy vineyards, stopping by Meursault, Volnay, and the Pommard vineyards, run by religious communities from the Middle Ages which produce full-bodied, tannic red wine. Visit one of the best wine-growers in the area to taste some of the vintages*. This afternoon, we'll visit the Beaujolais vineyards, followed by the famous Hameau Duboeuf wine village where we'll learn more about the art of wine-making. The cruise continues on towards Lyon.

Day 3

LYON - TAIN L'HERMITAGE - VIVIERS

Morning spent sailing along the Rhône valley. A conference will be given on board by a recognised expert on wine before lunch. We'll stop off in the early afternoon in Tain l'Hermitage whose Coteau de l'Hermitage, the best known slope, is crowned with a chapel which seems to guard the entrance to the valley. A wine-tasting session* will be organised at one of the best producers in the region. Return to the ship before cruising on to Viviers.

Day 4

VIVIERSCHATEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE - AVIGNON

We'll set off through the Ardèche gorges towards Vivarais for a wine-tasting session*. We'll return on board and cruise towards Châteauneuf-du-Pape, arriving in the afternoon. We'll depart by coach into the very heart of this famous wine growing area. We'll taste some wine* at one of the best local producers before we return on board and cruise on towards Avignon.

Day 5

AVIGNON - MARTIGUES(1) (Les Cassis)

Cruise towards Martigues. Onboard conference given by an expert in oenology before a game is organised. The finalists with the highest scores will then take part in a "blind” wine-tasting session*. The winner will be elected Bacchus of the cruise and will win a gastronomic cruise (valid for 1 person) on the Rhine with Marc Haeberlin, 3-star cook in the Michelin guide. We'll reach Cassis and leave by coach towards the Cassis area. Wine tasting* at one of the best local producers' and return on board in the late afternoon. Tonight's our gala dinner and evening.
