Hiking Heidelberg Following the Neckar River
We’ll begin our trek with a visit to the exterior of the city’s famous red sandstone castle ruins. We’ll then continue to follow the river from above - crossing through forests and taking in the great views from the cliffs - before arriving in Neckargemünd and seeing the Neckarsteinach castles. Once we arrive in Dilsberg, we’ll return to the ship in Eberbach by coach. This hike includes a picnic lunch. (Approximately 5 hours, 8.7 mi./14 km, 1,312 ft./400 m elevation gain)
