Paris and the Seine: the must-see

At CroisiEurope, we offer a variety of experiences along the Seine. Whether you choose a short city break in Paris, the capital of love, or a longer, history-filled journey that takes you to Rouen and Normandy, the Seine has many facets to delight both the curious and the leisurely traveller.

Most cruises begin in Paris, giving you the chance to explore the capital's iconic landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, the Sacré-Cœur, and Notre-Dame de Paris, which has recently reopened to visitors. This legendary cathedral has inspired countless artists and writers over the centuries, from Victor Hugo to Pablo Picasso and Edith Piaf.

For a truly magical experience, enjoy a cruise along the river at sunset, when the City of Light is at its most enchanting, a moment suspended in time that only a river cruise can offer.

Beyond Paris, our itineraries take you to Rouen, with its medieval quarter and connections to Joan of Arc, and to Honfleur, renowned for its charming port and vibrant art scene.

Nature and art lovers will also cherish a visit to Giverny, home to Claude Monet's gardens, where you can immerse yourself in the Impressionist world that inspired his most famous works.

For those wishing to extend their journey, we offer cruises to the landing beaches of Normandy, a region rich in history, where memory, stunning seascapes, and quaint coastal villages come together.

On 12 August 2026, the sky over Andalusia will deliver one of nature's most spectacular shows: a total solar eclipse. And what if the best seat in the house was... on board a cruise ship? CroisiEurope invites you to witness this rare celestial phenomenon from the deck of MS La Belle de Cadix, during an unforgettable cruise through southern Spain.

This 7-night cruise combines the magic of a once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event with the richness of Andalusian culture and heritage. Sailing from Seville, the journey takes you along the Guadalquivir River to iconic destinations such as Córdoba, Cádiz, El Puerto de Santa María and Granada, home to the legendary Alhambra.

The highlight of the cruise comes on 12 August, when the ship positions itself perfectly to observe the total solar eclipse, as the moon slowly obscures the sun in a breathtaking moment of silence and wonder. Later that evening, guests may also enjoy a meteor shower, adding even more magic to an already extraordinary day.

On board, guests benefit from the CroisiEurope all-inclusive experience: refined French cuisine, all meals and drinks included, enriching excursions and a warm, intimate atmosphere on a small-capacity ship.

Blending culture, discovery and a rare celestial spectacle, this Andalusian cruise is far more than a holiday, it is a moment in time, a memory written in the stars.

So, what are you doing on August 12th, 2026?

The secrets of the paintings on board: 50 years of adventure and creativity

You may have noticed them on your last cruise aboard one of our ships: the paintings of landscapes and flowers that adorn the corridors, lounges, and cabins. But do you know who created them?

Gérard Schmitter, the founder of CroisiEurope, was no ordinary entrepreneur. The son of an Alsatian potter, an inventive technician, and an artist at heart, he revolutionized river cruising in France with a boldness and artistic sensibility that continue to glide along your favorite rivers today.

In this anniversary year, we want to reveal a little-known side of our history: until his passing, Gérard Schmitter continued to paint at his home in Eschau, a small town near Strasbourg, decorating nearly all of our ships with his acrylic artworks. It was his way of maintaining a direct connection with the world he had created.

From the village of Betschdorf in northern Alsace, renowned for its salt-glazed pottery, to the creation of a fleet of 50 ships, this story reminds us that the soul of CroisiEurope is built on a unique philosophy: meticulous attention to every detail, a rejection of standardization, and an enduring pursuit of authenticity.

The MS Waydelich changes scenery: From the Rhine to the Seine

Even ships are entitled to their own great adventures!

In January, the MS Waydelich left the waters of the Rhine to set its course for a new horizon: the Seine.

This was no ordinary relocation. The ship first sailed to Rotterdam, where it was carefully loaded onto an impressive semi-submersible transport vessel.

These giants of the sea, sometimes nicknamed "kangaroo boats", partially submerge to create an underwater platform. The riverboat is then positioned on top, allowing the carrier vessel to slowly rise back to the surface, gently lifting the MS Waydelich out of the water before transporting it safely to its new destination. This remarkable technical operation enables our fleet to adapt to evolving itineraries and offer our passengers even greater flexibility and new cruising opportunities.

Starting from March, the MS Waydelich will begin a new chapter in its story on the Seine, ready to reveal the timeless charms of Normandy and the Paris region from a fresh perspective.

The MS Victor Hugo : Romantic elegance on Europe's Rivers

This month, we invite you to discover the MS Victor Hugo, a four-anchor vessel on a human scale that perfectly embodies the intimate spirit of our river cruises.

Named after one of the most illustrious figures in French literature, the ship was fully refurbished in 2019. Its decor is infused with romanticism: mineral and bluish tones echo the Channel Islands, where the writer lived in exile, while touches of brass and subtle Art Deco elements evoke the distinctive style of the era.

With just 45 cabins spread over two decks, the MS Victor Hugo offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere and highly personalized service. The restaurant, located on the upper deck, showcases French culinary expertise in a refined setting, with large picture windows allowing guests to admire the passing landscapes in complete serenity.

Sailing along the Elbe, Rhine and Danube, this elegant vessel invites you to explore some of Europe's most remarkable historical sites, combining comfort, culture and timeless charm.

From the pavilion dedicated to orchids to the Japanese-inspired garden, every corner of this legendary park holds a delightful surprise. Don't miss the historic windmill dating back to 1892, offering breathtaking views over endless fields of tulips stretching as far as the eye can see.

A touch of history: in the 15th century, this estate served as the hunting grounds of Jacqueline of Bavaria. Aromatic herbs were also cultivated here for the kitchens of her castle, giving the park its name, Keukenhof, which literally means "kitchen garden".
