Cruise

Day 1

22 DECEMBER Strasbourg - VIENNA (Austria)

Rendez-vous in our river mooring in Strasbourg (rue du havre). Departure by coach to Vienna. Lunch on your own. Boarding at 6.00pm in Vienna. Settling into your cabin. Presentation of the crew and welcome cocktail in the lounge. Dinner on board on an "Austrian theme”. Overnight stopover.

Day 2

23 DECEMBER VIENNA

Buffet breakfast on board. Morning devoted to the optional visit to Schoenbrunn castle. The former summer residence of the imperial family is brimming with attractions which make you want to linger: some 40 rooms in the imperial apartments are testimony to the splendour of life at court in the time of Maria Theresa. Back to the boat for lunch. In the afternoon, optional guided tour of Vienna. The imperial residence for more than six centuries, Vienna has been deeply marked by the seal of the Habsburgs. If, for many people, the Austrian capital evokes the rhythm of the waltz or the silhouette of the big wheel at the Prater, it owes its attraction above all to its monuments, to the memories of the Hapsburgs, to the riches of its museums, to its musical tradition continued by the opera and by numerous illustrious ensembles. The Christmas markets are also part of this refinement. We invite you to explore the Christmas market in front of the City Hall, marvellously decorated and prodigal with a variety of entertainments, it has an international reputation. Back on board for dinner followed by an evening of entertainment. Overnight stopover.

Day 3

24 DECEMBER VIENNA - BUDAPEST

Morning's sailing. Breakfast and lunch during the cruise. This day's sailing on the Danube will let you discover this river full of historical riches and immense heritage. Arrival in Budapest around 5.00pm. Our head chef will invite you to the restaurant where you will celebrate Christmas Eve around a glittering Christmas tree and a succulent dinner. We will then go to one of the many churches in Budapest for midnight mass in Hungarian language (depending on the places available or in another church - possibility of transfer, to book and pay on board(2)). Back on board where you will be served a glass of mulled wine.

Day 4

25 DECEMBER BUDAPEST (Hungary)

After breakfast, morning devoted to the optional guided tour of Budapest, a two thousand year old city Budapest, the belle époque city par excellence, is the incarnation of the sharp contrast between twin cities divided by the Danube and united since 1872. In the course of this guided tour, you will discover: haughty Buda with its winding streets, its Baroque palaces, its Turkish bath establishments and its royal palace from the Middle Ages; and bustling Pest, which offers a proud mixture of architectural styles. Back to the boat for lunch. Free afternoon. Explore the unquestioned marvels of the city at your own pace. Back on board. Departure of the boat around 7.00pm heading for Bratislava. Dinner on a "Hungarian theme” followed by an evening of entertainment.

Day 5

26 DECEMBER BRATISLAVA (Slovakia)

Morning's sailing. Breakfast on board. For the more courageous, an aerobics session is offered in the lounge in the company of our hostess. Games and pre-prandial drinks. Lunch during the cruise. Arrival in Bratislava around 4.00pm. Optional guided tour of Bratislava. Dominated to the north by the slopes of the southern point of the small Carpathians, irrigated by the Danube. The city occupies a privileged geographical site. The charm of the Slovakian capital lies in its old city : splendid baroque palaces, churches and pleasant squares. Back on board. Dinner and gala evening. Departure of the cruise during the night heading back to Vienna.

Day 6

27 DECEMBER VIENNA - Strasbourg

Arrival in Vienna early in the morning. Buffet breakfast on board. Disembarkation at 9.00am. Return to Strasbourg by coach. Lunch on your own. Arrival in the evening in Strasbourg. End of our journey.
