Romania river cruises

A deeply endearing country, Romania is a crossroads of Western, Byzantine, Slavic and Eastern influences. Its many assets make it a destination for any traveller: a varied landscape, an important wildlife, a picturesque countryside with well-preserved villages, and all that in the country with the lowest cost of living in Europe.

Romania also has many old buildings and treasures of forgotten times. You will travel among the elegant medieval cities of Transylvania, haunted or fairytale castles, ancient wooden churches and monasteries.

Seeming something straight out of a fantasy novel, the Iron Gates are another major attraction on the Danube. These imposing rock walls dominate the river for a hundred kilometers and separate the Carpathians from the Balkans. Among other extraordinary sights, passengers can admire the Tabula TrajanaI, a huge marble plaque reminiscent of the imperial road that connected the province of Dacia to Rome.

Finally continue along the course of the magnificent Blue Danube, through Bucharest, the surprising Romanian capital, and arrive at the river’s Delta where beyond, is the Black Sea. Once this border is crossed, a new world opens up to such different landscapes, art and traditions.

Exotic and surprising for a destination so far away, Romania is the perfect territory to surrender to calm and nature. During a cruise on the Danube, you will enjoy this serenity without ever missing anything of Romania.
